About Our Reno Nail Salon
Established in 1985, Beautiful Nails has been a part of our community for nearly 40 years! With local nail technician Jenes Carter taking over ownership in 2019, Beautiful Nails is growing, getting more involved with their community, and providing even better beauty salon services for the expanding Reno/Sparks area.

About Our Owner
Jenes Carter, owner of Beautiful Nails, began her journey in the field of cosmetology attending the Milan Institute in 2008. She focused her studies on hair, skin, and nails, gaining certifications in basic, electrical, and chemical facials, as well as microdermabrasion, and extractions. She fell in love with the mani/pedi service industry as it offered clients a way to practice self-care, express themselves artistically, and develop a unique look to highlight their personalities.
Jenes’s mission to bring joy to people through the beautification & pampering of her clients’ nails led her to purchase Beautiful Nails in 2019, achieving a long-time dream of owning her own salon. During her short time as owner, Jenes’ passion for art and dedication to clients have netted numerous local awards & recognition for the salon. Most recently, Beautiful Nails was awarded the 2023 Best of Sierra Nevada GOLD Medal for nail salons.
But Jenes Carter is no one-trick pony. Not by a long shot! In fact, if you’re a Reno local or an attendee of the Burning Man festival, you’ve likely seen or heard of her before. That’s because Jenes is a prolific musical artist, choreographer, dancer, and a huge part of the local Reno music scene. She’s been an integral member of 3 notable bands over the past 14 years performing locally and touring the country on her “downtime” away from the salon. These include Black Rock City Allstars, Mojo Green, and her most recent project, Jenes N the Juice!
Furthermore, Jenes takes local community building, volunteering, and supporting fellow business owners seriously! Over the years, she’s coordinated South Virginia Plaza events to benefit the Nevada Coalition to End Domestic & Sexual Violence, the Nevada Humane Society, and the Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows. Additionally, she serves as an active board member of the Wells Ave. District, promoting local business growth by hosting events that encourage community engagement.
I hope to become an inspiration for others to not be afraid of following their dreams, trying new things, meeting new people, and most importantly, loving & supporting others!
